When attempting to install v1.01 from ftp.uu.net SLS release,
after booting the install disk I select disks, 3.5 size, prompt
for description. Lilo asks if I want to install each package, such as bin.tgz
and I respond yes. Much activity is seen on the 3.5 drive. yet after a few
seconds the HD stops accessing and it hangs.
I have tried installing each package seperately,I have also tried
using sysinstall from the dos harddrive, from a mounted directory and from
a directory on the newly created partition (ext2fs) fs for Linux. All the
same hang. I have tried checking the integrity of the files with gzip
and they check ok.
what am I doing wrong? The previous version i was running was 98p5 but this
should have no reflection on the new install. I am using the old version of
raw to create the boot disk with a1.3.Z
I use a 386-40 with 4megs & 130Meg Maxtor IDE HD & trident svga 1meg card
