Subject: Why is virmf (TeX) linked to libXt and libX11 ?
Date: 2 May 1993 14:55:41 GMT

When using dvidjp (which I finally got running right) it is calling mf
(which is a link to virmf) to make some fonts. I don't have the X11
disks installed at all. I get an error such as "mf: can't load library
/lib/libXt.so.3 not found"

This is what virmf is linked to:

/usr/TeX/bin #ldd virmf
        /lib/libXt.so.3 (DLL Jump 3.0)
        /lib/libX11.so.3 (DLL Jump 3.0pl0)
        /libc.so.4 (DLL Jump 4.3pl3)

So, basically, what I am seeing here is that I need to install the X11
libraries to use MetaFont properly? BUH? How lame. Hmmm, anyone have any
ideas, comments, suggestions?
