I need help with two problems using X386mono.
I'm using X386mono under Linux on an external VGA monitor connected to
my GRiD 1550sx laptop. I have to use the mono driver because I don't
appear to have enough memory for any of the color drivers (only 256KB
video ram).
First, when I bring up X, I can *only* read the material in an Xterm
window. All of the other windows I've tried, including shelltool,
command tool, clock, xtetris, etc, stay just plain white. I can't get
them to show any text or graphics. However, the xterms seem to work
fine. I've tried specifying different -bg and -fg colors in my
xinitrc --- but to no avail. Any suggestions?
Second: The black and white screen is somewhat hard on my eyes. Can
anyone tell me how to substitute another color (like dark blue) for
the black?
Thanks!
Peter
