        I remember seeing similar postings blaming grep, but
I'm going to try to blame more. Sorry, I haven't done
any extensive testing, but I figured I'd put this up to
support the other claims.

        Linux 0.99pl9
        tcsh 6.03
        Xfree-1.2
        more
        grep -- most likely egrep

        This doesn't happen all the time, so I really can't
be sure what's causing it. I don't usually use other
shells or pagers, but I'll give them a try soon.

        It doesn't appear to be a problem with login --
although it might be. But if it happens in X, the
whole x server shuts down.
