Subject: Metrolink's Motif for Linux will run atop Xfree86?
Date: Sat, 1 May 1993 06:05:45 GMT

I'm new to X, and all the levels of servers, clients, toolkits, GUIs, and
APIs are still somewhat confusing to me.

Metrolink has said that in 2 weeks, they will be offering the Motif
libraries for Linux, at an intro price of $200. Are those libraries going to
run on top of XFree86? Or is Metrolink planning to sell their own X
server in the package?

The main issue (for me) is that XFree86 is/will support my Cirrus Logic
5426 based card (I'm an alpha tester), whereas I don't know that Metrolink
has such support.

Please e-mail an answer as well as posting a response. My news server
doesn't seem to be updating anything right now.

Thanks,
Brandon
