From: jtmack@sfsuvax1.sfsu.edu (James T. Kirk) Subject: [Q] promblems compiling kernel on 386sx. Date: Wed, 31 Mar 1993 20:59:36 GMT
I just read the other post about turning the -m486 off and
math emulation on, I did that but it stills take and hour to watch my machine work very hard then crash in the process of "make disk", after
running "make dep;make clean". I am running this on a 386sx with a 30meg
partition for Linux and need to make a new kernel to get my 1542c to be noticed to I can set up a swap partition. Linux will actually recognize the 1542c about 1/10 of the time. Any help would be appreciated. Is this taking to long to compile?
Also I have this problem when I cd to certain directories sometimes it
just immediatelly put me back at the login prompt, and doesn't log it.
thanks
