Andre Eickler asked for advised on how to set up 800x600 mono on an Oak
Card.
Here's the solution (Sorry if this have been posted twice)
I've got 800x600 on OAK cards in mono but you will have to start up
with
the 132x?? text modes ( during booting) to get the clocks running at
the
high frequencies.I've not got any clock setting program yet but there
may be one around already....something called X tuner but haven't got
time to look it up. Check it out at comp.os.linux. Here's the settings
i used for Xconfig:

  "800x600" 36 800 824 896 1024 600 601 603 625
                40 800 840 968 1056 600 601 605 628
                50 800 856 976 1040 600 637 643 666
                36 833 865 1000 1032 624 624 632 759
         56 800 816 984 1000 600 612 618 630
         45 800 820 984 1000 600 614 620 630
The clocks are not stable but they should more or less come close to 45
,50 or 56. This will start X up in native 800x600. It works 90% for
my case. Of course you will have to bear with the 132x?? text mode.Let
me know if you have any problems.

 Hope this helps

PS: Andre, I can't get it through to you Mail address in Germany. Hope
you manage to pick this up.
