Subject: serial communications pbm report
Date: 31 Mar 1993 10:41:34 GMT

hi,

I'm running Linux v0.99 pl6 on a 486 DX 50 Mhz + 16 Mo RAM and
2 communications ports (one for the mouse, a second for a hard
wired console) and am having problems with GETTY.

I installed mine Linux through SLS distribution.

Running original INIT and GETTY, inittab correct for them,
INIT report error message:
"respawn too fast" and nothing happens on the hard wired
console.

Running POEIG INIT and GETTY, with inittab format
supplied in the package, INIT does not complain,
hard wired console receives /etc/issue and login
but all we type is not echoed and is ignored, we
can't log in.

Can anybody help please ?

        Cheers, Laurent.
