good luck! you'll need it. Anyway, I remember getting that same error,
and it is because that ioctl will *always* fail in linux. you have to
edit the source to work around it, or patch the kernel to make it
succeed, in kernel/chr_drv/tty_ioctl.c. The ioctl is bogus anyway,
(Suns ignore it) so you should remove it. But that will only be the beginning
of your problems with serial printers...I have yet to get lpd working.
