From: chowes@nyx.cs.du.edu (Chester Howes) Subject: Will a Floppy controller tape drive work with..? Date: Mon, 29 Mar 1993 04:50:49 GMT
Hello to the net.
I'm planning to put and learn both OS2.1 and LINUX on my 386sx16 Clone.
It's doubtful I'll be competive in the job market knowing only DOS ;-).
Hardware: IDE 40 & 89Mb HD, 2 floppies, 5Mb RAM on motherbd (full-up)
and int 2400 modem.
Planed upgrades are 250+ HD vice the 40, add 4 or 8Mb RAM on an AT bd, a
Tape BU, and a 14.4 modem. (I can survive running at 16MHz)
I've read the OS2 FAQ but didn't see this question posed or answered:
Can anyone tell me if a Colorado or Mountain tape drive on the floppy
controller will work with these operating systems or should / must I go
to a SCSI drive? If so, what should I look for in a SCSI?
TNX in advance for any answers. Email would be most helpful.
