Subject: HELP -- fdisk verify shows errors!
Date: 28 Mar 1993 18:40:24 GMT

I recently tried insalling LILO on my system... it didn't work, so I thought
I'd check the partitions using fdisk. Here's the setup:

/dev/hda1 65Mb DOS >=32
/dev/hda2 120Mb Linux e2fs
/dev/hda3 (rest of it) swap

There's a + sign after the DOS parition size... I have no idea what it means...

Anyway, I typed "v" to verify the partition tables and it came back with all
sorts of messages: "First partition overlaps second", "Number of heads 17
greater than max 5", "Number of sectors (xxx) greater than max (yyy)", etc.
The system seems to be running OK, though... I haven't installed MS-DOS
on the first partition yet.

Are these errors something to worry about, or are they a result of a bug
or some other phenomenon? What can be done to remedy the problem if one
exists?

Please reply via e-mail to either address below.

Thanks,
