Subject: Making ream4.16 work

We'll I'm chuffed with myself. Knowing *my* luck, someone has already
done this, but with not having access to cheap ftp, I don't know whether
they have or not, so here goes:

I have made ream4.16 compile and run under linux, and here's what I did :-

1. Look in config.h. Where are the lines regarding Cray 2s, comment out the
#ifdef/#endif lines so that the define and the include are processed.

2. Change the #include <sys/unistd.h> to just <unistd.h> as it resides in
the main /lib/include directory, not sys.

3. Find the line referring to libraries in the Makefile. By default there are
two paramters -lcurses and -lsomething_about_terms (can't remember the
exact name - I'm using DOS right now). Change this second argument to
   -ltermlib.

The make should now work -- albeit with warnings -- and the system appears
to work for me, but I have not tested it extensively.

I hope this helps someone somewhere.
