As you said, this could be a "religious" subject. I generally
use the emacs gnus newsreader. why? I use emacs extensively, and have
modified it a lot. Using gnus means that if you grok emacs lisp, you
can make it do anything you want. Also, it has features that I've
rarely found on other neewreaders, and, since I'm using it in an
editor, cut & paste are easy, and so is mail and postin news (I use
emacs for that too). Also, I get X windows compatibility when using X,
and loose no functionality over a dialup line or a dumb terminal.
Combined with hyberbole, I also can get Hypertext features.
