Subject: Gnu tar and remote netowork tapes

Gnu tar doesnt seem to work with tape drives on remote machines.
I try to do tar tf host.foobar:/dev/st0 or whatever, and it fails.
/etc/rmt is on the remote machine, and rsh works between the machines.

has anyone tried this and had it work?
