Consider for a moment the arduous task of maintaining a unix system.

Consider the task of determining monitor timings.

Consider the task of making your partitions, and the filesystems.

Consider the options we have in upgrading- recompiling the kernel.

Sum it up, and you'd scare the living s**t out of a current windows user,
you'd blanch a die-hard DOS user, and any NT/os2 'ers would get the chills.

Unix is not an OS meant for everyone, since it can offer so much. Some people
don't really _want_ their computers to do everything, so are happy with DOS,
windoze, or os2.

Linux is not for everyone. The signal::noise is already fairly high, so the
additional questions of utterly clueless people who bought linux at a store,
(or however the "marketing" would consist of) would overwhelm c.o.l.

In short, the best way to support linux is by developing it further. I can
see no arguments against this simple fact. It prevents the OS from stagnating,
it offers nearly infinite options in the future, and who really cares if
only a few hundred use linux and a few million use windows?

If someone is really jealous of windowsers, get some funky X toys,
might waste a bit of processor power, but it looks good.
