ok, I'm admiting my ignorence on this one.

I'm developing some code in C++ under Linux (99pl7), and my code is giving me
a 'floating point exception' in what looks like valid code. Can anyone
please tell me what this is supposed to be telling me? What is this a
symptom of? And what are the usual sorts of things one does to get rid of it?

Again, thank you for any/all help.
