It finally occurred to me to check the mail-archive directory to see if
Heiko's patches were in one of the messages. Sure enough! They are in
digest973.Z of Volume3:
(tsx-11.mit.edu:pub/linux/mail-archive/Volume3/digest973.Z)
Unfortunately, they are relative to 0.99.2, so none of them went in cleanly
-- I'll put them in by hand tonight, and let you know how they work out.
Another possibly useful tip for those bearing with me on this thread :-)
(it's really odd -- whenever I post here I seem to be the only one to
follow-up my messages):
If you need to see an article that was posted to comp.os.linux check out
the tsx-11 mail-archives. They have an extensive (complete?) collection of
articles posted to comp.os.linux in the form of digests (presumably these
are mailed to folks w/o Usenet access?). Don't bother doing a 'dir' you'll
be watching the screen scroll for hours. Instead, grab the CONTENTS file
in each VolumeX directory (being careful not to overwrite previous CONTENTS
files, I did 'cd VolumeX; get CONTENTS contents.volX' for each of the 4
Volume directories). Once you have a complete set of CONTENTS you can just
grep for the information you need and download just those digests that are
of interest (ie for the information above I did 'grep -i heiko con*').
Thanks to everyone!
Tony
