Theres only one problem I see:
Certain good hardware like Intelligent Multiport Serial Cards or several
Cache-Controllers (No flame war about cache-controllers,please) will
maybe not available for Linux-Users because Hardware-Suppliers might not
want to make their hardware/software know-how public.
For me it's a problem:
I would like to drive a Multiport Mailbox with Linux, but: I don't know
yet about multiport-serial drivers for Linux.
