I suggest everybody grab the bootable rootdisk on tsx-11.mit.edu under
pub/linux/GCC/rootdisk if you haven't do so. After you have read
README.rootdisk, you will know what to do and what it can be used for.

Could someone please put this on FAQ and list it as required? It will
save lots of bandwidths.
