Subject: Logitech serial won't work
Date: 15 Mar 1993 10:13:53 GMT

Hi there,

having installed Linux V0.98 on my system and having found it works just great, I now tried to get X to work. With the minor changes in the Xconfig, described in the READMEs and FAQs, I finally got it to display the X-screen when started. Still, my Logitech serial mouse doesn't respond. I read through all of the FAQs and all of the READMEs but couldn't find a hint what I'm doing wrong. It's an old fashioned, square shaped, plain vanilla C7-serial mouse from Logitech. So I don't know what I am doing wrong,

when leaving only the Logitech entry in the Xconfig uncommented. I also checked out the other ones, but they won't work either, nor does the mouse respond with any other port configuration (currently it is on /dev/ttys2).
What am I doing wrong? Will I have to change the port configuration in the inittab?

Hopefully somebody has a clue for me.
I think, I do not have an international email addresss, so I would appreciate a reply on the net.

                           Thanks Martin

PS: Does anybody know how to get the dieresis (umlaute) to work, when rebuilding the kernel with german keyboard?
