Hi. I've been running SLS .96 for a few months, and I recently decided to go
on an updating binge. I installed libc4.3 (worked fine), gcc2.3.3 (worked
fine), the kernel 0.99.5 (worked fine), and X1.2 (can win 'em all.)
I had been running X1.0, which worked. But with X1.2 installed, when I
type "startx", I get:
"Cannot find a free VT"
I'm reasonably sure that I have VT's 5-8 free. But when I do
X -pn vt5 (or vt6 or vt7 or vt8) I get:
"VT_ACTIVATE failed
VT_WAITACTIVE failed
VT_GETMODE failed"
So, basically, it's ignoring my VT's. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Any suggestions, hints, cash contributions for no reason, etc. will be
appreciated. Thanks.
