Subject: ATI ultra Pro, linux, and 8514

We got a gateway 2000 dx2 66 (great machine BTW), and it has worked quite
well at 1024x768 with xfree-1.1 and xfree-1.2. I kept hearing about the
speedup of the 8514 would give, so I tried it. On my benchmark, (using
xspringies), the standard xserver was much much faster (like 3 or 4 times).

Did I mis-install it or is the 8514 a bad choice for the ATI pro, localbus?

Anyone get it to work at 1152x900?
