With 30KB free space (not MB) you can create any size xiafs partition.
If you'd like to install SLS with xiafs, you may get H. Lu's bootable
rootdisk. Make it installed. Then, install the program from SLS which
is missing from the rootdisk.

In fact, H. Lu's bootable rootdisk supports both xiafs and ext2fs. So, you
can try both and make you own decision.
