I was using a diamond speedstar + with X under Linux. To make it work in
1024x768 I used the freq program in diamond.taz to set the frequency to
111Khz. Yes that is 111Khz. It woked okay but used to flicker a
bit...worked for five days and then the card blew it!! It just packed
up!!!!!! Now I am without a picture on my monitor!
The monitor is OKAY (CTX 5468NI) but the card is screwed over!!
Any ideas why??
And secondly which is a GOOD but NOT TO EXPENSIVE video card to use with
Linux and also one which will support Win 3.1. Olease suggest.
Direct e-mail please to sneaker@cmu.edu
