Subject: Bizarre happenings after upgrade to libc.4.3.2

Hello,
        After RTFM for libc.4.3.2, and installing it just as prescribed,
recompiling the kernel (didn't think it would hurt), and rebooting, my
machine has been possessed! Lpd will no longer run, when it ran fine before,
and I'm left with the bizarre predicament where no normal user can log in
anymore. Root logins are fine, but I cannot even su to a user. I get
"segmentation fault". *sigh* Very strange. Anyone else seen this?
