I'm still using pl5, but have reported this sort of behaviour twice as pl5 was
still the latest release. I too wish that someone could give a few hints as to
how we could go about analysing the problem and perhaps even isolate the cause.
I intend to update to pl6 today, here's hoping!

Also, are messages such as

wd_rx_over
wd8003 transmit timed out
wd8013 network cable open (it wasn't)
dev_rint dropping packets due to lack of memory
nfs_rpc_call bad select ready
wd8013 bad packet: len=64, status=x20, bnd=16, pkt=17, cur=18, trashing receive
                buffer

Are these indicative of the possible cause of the problem, or are they quite
harmless?
