From: STDN%MARIST@VM.MARIST.EDU (Dan Newcombe) Subject: Need to make my own boot/root for new fs Date: 1 Mar 1993 03:14:53 GMT
Hi :) I need to create my own boot/rootdisk combo to install the
ext2fs and get rid of the ext fs. I have the kernel dd'ed onto a
floppy, no problem. It even asks me to insert the root disk.
I have 2 of them so far:
1) The actual A2 disk that comes with the SLS dist. It does
nothing when I press enter.
2) One I made myself, that actually was made with ext2fs. It gives me
a message saying that it has been recognized (the ext2fs part) and
then sits there with the drive spinning.
What files need to be on this disk? I also read something about having
to fix something in keyboard.c. In put_queue() what was supposed to
be wrong wasn't but in put_queues() it had wake_up_interuptable, so I
changed that to wake_up, but is didn't matter. :(
Btw, I am running 99pl6 with libc 4.3
Thanks,
