Subject: [Q] last(b), CAD-sync, eth0 receiver overrun, root/boot disk
Date: Wed, 30 Jun 1993 17:48:56 GMT

I saved a few up to throw them out at once...

1) I have noticed that last never reports that a session has ended. It is
always reporting still logged on?

2) lastb does not provied anything. I have created the /etc/btmp file and
have purposefully attempted to log in with incorrect password. However,
nothing shows up?

3) Does CAD perform a SYNC or do I need to execute it prior to CAD?

4) Periodically, I receive the following message:
      eth0: receiver overrun

      Is this bad/good/ugly? Does this just mean that my 3c503 can't handle
all of the packets that are hitting it (most of which not for PC)?

5) I have been trying to create a boot disk (similar to SLS a1 boot), so I
can install Linux on my PC at home (IN2000 scsi). However, I can not seem to
get it to work. Here is what I have done:

    a) added patches as required by in2000.diff
    b) modified /linux/Makefile:
           ROOTDEV = FLOPPY
           RAMDISK = -DRAMDISK=512
    c) make config
    d) make clean
    e) make dep
    f) make
    g) cp /linux/Image /dev/fd0

   The resulting floppy boot:
       loading....
       Select VGA mode
       system reboots itself UGH!!!
