Subject: Packet Drivers (CRYNWR) porting to linux
Date: Mon, 28 Jun 1993 14:13:39 GMT

Hi, all...

This will possibly get me flamed - but...

In the world of the lowly DOS, there is a vast amount of packet drivers
available - even in source code.

( Packet driver : Hardware dependant piece of magic code which links
your *-net card to network applications - do not
buy any network card which has NO packet driver for DOS,
i believe that those without are very new or brain dead )

Could anybody explain why it is not possible to port packet drivers
to linux ? IMHO, most of the driver source code belongs to the
net guru R. Nelson of Crynwr, will he allow porting attempts ?

This could speed up the availability of network card drivers in
insane speed...

Greetings,
   Jens
