I don't usually reply in such a forthright manner, so I hope you'll forgive
me this indulgence this time.
NONSENSE!
I installed quite a while back when Darren Senn ported it. It was
faster under Linux than a SUN 4. It was so good, that I used it to
demonstrate to our Computer Systems Manager that Linux should be given
serious consideration when he came to upgrade from 386SX's with Xseed to
Xterminals. He is now given it very serious consideration.

Admittedly, on my 386-25 no copro, 5 megs of RAM, it is unplayable.
But on a 486-33 with 16 megs, TVGA 8900(!) it is superb.
I can only assume that the version you tried was brain damaged OR there was
something missing from my version. In the latter case I apologise for the
above. Certainly I was able to have 4 other people and a few terminators
without any serious degradation in performance.
