Subject: Installing from a QIC-40

I bought a QIC-40 tape from someone on the net and tried to install.
I got to a menu where I select what media I was using to install.
I selected "tape," then I got a tar error in a non-English language.

I was able to read the whole tape in with Colorado Memory System's
restore software. I can't imagine that the author of tar used the exact
format as CMS, so I guess the install software is trying to read a CMS
archive as if it were a tar archive on the tape. Am I right?

I have the whole tape image on my hard disk.

How do I either 1. make a tar tape image from DOS? or 2. install with the
tape in its current CMS format?

Oh yeah, I ENJOY getting too many replies to simple questions. So email
'em in.

Thanks.
