Subject: Changing keyboard under 0.99pl10. Old libs? Neting, misc.

OK, just to pre-empt any flames winging there way over. I haven't been
following c.o.l for the last 3 months or so. I just upgraded from SLS
0.98.3 to 1.0.2 and added gcc2.4.3/libc|m4.4, XFree86-1.3 myself.

I downloaded linux-0.99pl10 from tsx-11 and noticed there was no longer
any section in the main Makefile for choosing keyboard nationality. Also,
this had not been moved into the configuration script. So, how do I change
keyboard. I tried fixkbd but this was of no use. This, unsurprisingly, is
not in FAQ v1.19 of 11/6/93.

Also, now that I have upgraded the libraries can I safely delete :

        libX11.so.3.0
        libXaw.so.3.0
        libXt.so.3.0

        libc.so.4.3.3
        libm.so.4.3.3

Lastly, I'm on a stand alone machine. I might eventually attempt to establish
a SLIP connection to my Internet machine, but for the moment I just want to
save as much memory as possible while maintaining maximum functionality.

I want to be in the position of being able to run programs which require TCP
or UDP sockets. What daemons have to be running (if any) to handle such things.
At the moment I have inetd, named, portmap, mountd running. Can they all be
removed. Is there an updated NET FAQ yet? Will this cover such things?

Thanks in advance,
