Wow! This is the most active c.o.c <g> has been in quite some time.
I hope MWC is paying close attention to what people are saying here.
I think really great points have been made on both fronts, though
I find it difficult to be as gung ho as Udo. :)
For all but the most newbie users, I think linux is clearly the
better choice in terms of variety of software and support of a
wide variety of hardware.
For me, I won't be satisfied until I can:
1) compile the linux 2.0 pl55 kernel in one X window
2) play X-wing in another window using a VPL helmet/glove combo
3) compile X itself in 4megs of physical RAM and 4 megs of swap. :)
All at the same time!
All in all, I just wanted to say that people should take these
comparisons for what they are, a learning experience for both
"camps."
