I don't know, I tried fsck the first time, saw it did not work and
looked in the /bin for anything that has fsck in it. I saw e2fsck
and made a logical connection.

True, but I think one assumes that people will do logical things, like
looking for similat filenames (I mean mkfs > fsck, and mke2fs > e2fsck
makes sense, doesn't it?)

Heh, I never flamed, but I think that people who get Linux had better
be wide awake, have the patience to read docs when stuck, and be willing
to poke around the system for things that might help. I have never seen
Coherent, but if what you say is true I guess it is the way to go for
people not willing to do any "hacking" or spend any time getting to know
the system.
