Subject: 0.99pl10, net-2 all working...now how do I do SLIP?
Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1993 20:59:52 GMT

I now have 0.99pl10, net-2, and the 4.4 lib's all up and running--
many thanks for all the help I've recieved in this group. (And
my apologies for crying bug over 'tar +help' using lib 4.4, I
wasn't aware of the -- convention vice the +.)

Now, on to my question: how do I fire up SLIP in this config?
I'll be receiving a dynamic IP address (128.118.25.???), I have
a nameserver available, and I have all the net-2
stuff working right. To the best of my understanding, I need to
dial up and initiate SLIP at the other end using kermit, then shell
out and fire up things in the kernel....how do i do the kernel
part? using ifconfig? if so, what settings? do I need in.bootpd
going? should it be loaded at boot-up, or run once I establish
my connection and have already been assigned my dynamic IP address?

Email appreciated...
