No, it is not a x86 type chip. I am at home now, so I don't have access to
the specs, but it is a RISC chip with several ASICS (sp?).

It is not necessarily the same as you imply; but the way various kinds of
equipment are marketed and applied do sometimes mask the underlying
similarities (or potential similarities).
