From: jedubins@unix.amherst.edu (Just a fellow traveller...) Subject: [Q]: Need info on printer problem. Date: 20 Jun 1993 01:10:39 -0400
I know, I know, read the Printer FAQ, I leafed through it, and although
it was informative it didn't point me directly to the exact information
I wanted to know.
If I understand what I skimmed from the FAQ I need to set up a
printcap entry for my Epson, and also related filters. I really don't
feel like doing printer programming right now, in addition to the
fact I'm not sure where my printer manual is... Obviously I have no
problem printing out straight ASCII type documents, but I'd like
to be able to print out other types of typeset print, such as dvi
and Postscript, etc. So could somebody send me the details I need to
set up my Epson for this? Otherwise I'll have to steal a laserprinter,
and I really can't risk any jail time at this point in my political
career.
oh, almost forgot,-- printer is set up on LPT1-- and if
there are any options I need to enable printing directly from command
line ghostscript, or ghostview in X, let me know. I'm fairly new
at using ghostscript-- as well as unix system administration and
maintenance.

Yes, it's true, I'm so ashamed, I picked the one employer in the Fortune
100 to program for that has T3 backbone links--- but still isn't connected
at any point to the internet! oh well. C'est la vie... say May.
