Dear Linux Users and CD-ROM News subscribers,
It's very sad to see some users coming to conclusion without
knowing the whole story. Here are some more info on my company
JANA Publishing.
1. We expect to pass the 1000th subscriber mark this month. We
are running ads in NeXT World and NeXT Review, we will be at
Comdex Canada next month. Also expect to see our ad in UNIX
World. We are not going out of business. I am willing to show my
financial records to some one in the net if they like to see it
in person.
2. We sent letters to users who did not pay asking for a
payment, but there was a sentence in the letter that said "If
you have sent the payment already, thanks a lot". So I do not
understand why some users are getting angry about getting a
letter. Starting today all the subscriptions will be handled
using credit cards, The cost of the subscription will be
increased by $5 dollars to cover the cost. I tried to save some
money for the users, but all I got is a bad rap.
3. If any one is living in Toronto S(he) is welcome to see me in
person and my operations.
The main problem I faced was due to more orders then I
expected. I was under the impression I will get only about 100
orders, but within a month I got over 500 orders and I was not
ready for it.
At present I am ready to handle the load, I am replying to
E-Mails ( I have about 1400 - 1500 mails sitting in my box ),
but it will take some time. I have hired a staff to look after
the E-Mails and order entry and I have enough stock on my now.
I started this venture so users can get low cost software on a
CD-ROM, and I expect to keep the price low and offer this
service for a long long time. I hope some users who have talked
to me in person or on the phone would let the net know that we
are not a fraud.
