Subject: "tar x" creates files in the future

I frequently tar stuff onto a 3 1/2 inch floppy from the Sparc in my office.
I drive 15 minutes to my home, maybe another fifteen before I turn on Linux.
When I untar the floppy, it creates files which are 20-30 minutes into the
future. When I do RCS operations on these files, it complains loudly about
previous revision has newer time than new revision.

I checked the times on both machines using my watch. They are only about 7
minutes apart. The drive home would surely make up for the difference. I'm
assuming tar on the sun in stable. So I suspect that gtar under Linux is
the problem.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Thanks,
Greg Galloway
