I have my network working but now I would like to use slip. How do you use slip and dip? my SLIP commection woks like this:

dial in
get OSUETS>
at prompt type SLIP
then it ask for your name and password the after that
the get "Your IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Connection IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"
then nothing, I think I have slipped in.

I have written a dip srcipt to get this far but when I attempt to go to SLIP
mode I geta error HOSTNAME not set. then bomb out and exit.
can I use the ip address given to set local and remote then go to slip mode?

is there another way?
can I do it from xterm?
