This *does* exist. The monitor is actually much more important than
the card..

But aside that: still, when you get X up, it's not really a dream
environment as it stands.. a lot of frobbing environment files
is needed for that. This is the harder part for newbies.. you can tell
them how to set up X for their monitor, but you can't tell them
how they want their environment. And as long as good defaults that
allow you to do stuff easily are missing, there's no way
Joe B. Luser is going to go through the trouble of configuring the X server.
(You have to be able to show what's *better* in X to get them do that).
