Hello hardware experts,

I'm in a dilema. Which architecture will work better under Linux,
the 486 50Mz, or the 486 DX2 at 66Mhz. I hear that it is a tradeoff. The
486Mhz requires fast RAM (60ns) because both internal and external CPU
action takes place at 50Mhz. In the DX2 at 66Mhz, the CPU runs at 66Mhz,
and any external IO occurs at 33Mhz. So CPU intensive activity would be
faster on the 66, and IO intensive activity would be faster on the 50Mhz.
I guess the question boils down to:

"Is linux CPU or IO intensive. Which architecture is a better choice."
