What is wrong with encapsulated postscript figures and epsf for TeX?

\input epsf.tex

.
.
.

\begin{figure}
\center \leavevmode \epsfbox{edmact.ps}
\caption{WSC main window after activation \label{fig:edmact}}
\end{figure}

And TeX puts it at a nice position in the output (you can specify if
you want). You can also scale the box in different ways, or specify
absolute dimensions.
