|I have all the linux disks on my unix (hp9000) box that has a 3.5 '' disk
|drive. I have checked all the FAQs and nowhere does it say how to transfer
|ALL the disks from a unix box onto disks that the DOS machine can use. I
|know you can use 'dd' for the a1 disk, but for the others what can I do?
There is a collection of programs known as mtools that enable the
read/write of MSDOS floppies on a Unix machine.
The following MSDOS commands are emulated:
Mtool MSDOS
name equivalent Description
===== ==== ===========
mdel DEL/ERASE delete a MSDOS file
mdir DIR display a MSDOS directory
mmd MD/MKDIR make a MSDOS sub directory
mrd RD/RMDIR remove a MSDOS sub directory
mread COPY read (copy) a MSDOS file to Unix
mren REN/RENAME rename an existing MSDOS file
mtype TYPE display contents of a MSDOS file
mwrite COPY write (copy) a Unix file to MSDOS
mtools can be found on most archive sites. E.g: ftp.uu.net - /pub/mtools.
