Subject: 99.10 compressed kernel dont work (clue needed?)
Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1993 16:52:40 GMT

I installed pl 99.9 last week, and sucessfully built a compressed kernel to
work with lilo, and a boot floopy. I built the 99.10 compressed kernel last
night, created zImage, moved it to /vmlinux, did /etc/lilo/install, etc.

When I attempt to boot the machine, I see a "decompressing image" then an
error something like "unable to fill buffer", and the lilo prompt returns.
However the 99.10 uncompressed kernel works fine with Lilo + a boot floppy.
(The compressed 99.10 doesn't work on a boot floppy either.)

My machine is:

- 486/33 ISA with 20 mb memory
- quantum lps105 IDE drive split /dev/hda1 MSDOS 5.0, and /dev/hda4 Linux

Any ideas?

Thanks

Robb
