Subject: HELP: stty: standard input: Invalid option error
Date: Thu, 10 Jun 1993 05:30:16 GMT

I have a problem with my Linux system. I was running Linux 0.99.9 for
a while without any problems. Then I made some changes (what I can't
remember) and installed 0.99.10. No problems until I fired up tin. I
posted an article as I did this one. After saving the article, I get
the follow message several times:

stty: standard input: Invalid option

This happens several times until c-news actually posts the article.
This is not the only occasion it happens. Other shell scripts and
program get the same error. Thinking, "Oh bug in the new kernel", I
booted 0.99.9 from floppy (bypassing LILO) and ended up with the same
error messages.

I did something with permissions somewhere - BUT WHERE? This is not a
problem with the stty program. Get rid of it and it still screws up.

HELP! Though this is not a big problem, it is annoying! I broke it and
would love to know HOW I broke it so I NEVER do it again.

Any assistance would be appreciated in a post or email. (Pardon the
post as root)
