All this cache posting reminds me of my problems. I have a DTK
3331 mother board. When I upgraded from 4 Mb to 16 Mb the system
ran much slower. I finally figured out (with some help and hints from
Linus) that system was not caching addresses above 8 Mb. I looked
at all options in BIOS and there were none related to setting
regions of memory uncached. THe DTK tech support was not helpful,
and claimed that Linux being PD software they just can't believe
any this. Finally my dealer agreed to replace the motherboard. I am
awaiting the return of my computer.

I do believe a way is needed to do cache testing. Not all PC
designs seem to handle cache well. I have seen some other postings
here tell of cache woes.
