Subject: [Q] Parallel-port SCSI adapters, tape drives, & Linux?
Date: Tue, 8 Jun 1993 01:57:01 GMT

Can Linux access a parallel-port SCSI adapter? I'm specifically interested in
connecting a SCSI tape drive to a laptop computer. None of the FAQs is very
encouraging about this possibility, but it's not explicitly ruled out either.

More generally, has anybody successfully used a tape drive on a laptop with
Linux? It seems dosemu 0.49 might work, running DOS backup software and
mounting a Linux partition with NFS.

Any comments, suggestions or flames, either posted or e-mailed, are welcomed.
