Subject: profiling gcrt.0 missing

Hi!

I want to profile a program I'm working on, but gcc 2.3.3
complains that /usr/lib/gcrt.0 is missing when trying to link.
Does anyone know if I can find this file anywhere or if profiling
works at all?
I have compiled Linux 0.99.9 with profiling support installed on.
The rest of my installation is from SLS 1.02.

(as an aside: xboard is missing from SLS, gnuchessx isn't much without it)
