From: cmb@epcc.ed.ac.uk (C M Brough) Subject: [Q] idraw uses lots of CPU even when 'idle' Date: 7 Jun 1993 09:39:19 GMT
I'm using SLS 1.02 (kernel 0.99pl9), XFree1.2, and whichever version
of idraw comes with SLS 1.02. X and C libraries are all from SLS 1.02,
so no new gcc2.4 stuff. Idraw shows >90% CPU usage (ps -aux and/or
xload), even when not doing anything. Kill idraw, and CPU usage goes
down to close to zero. Restart idraw and CPU usage goes back up to
>90%... This does not happen with idraw on the Sun's at work - CPU
usage down at zero when idraw is running but not being used. Anyone
any idea what is going on? I haven't tried recompiling idraw or
anything - would that help?
